The physicians at Foothill Pulmonary specialize in dealing with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases.   For example, diabetes, thyroid disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, female and male related issues, colds and flu are a few of the many diseases they treat. They specialize in complete physical exams, Medicare initial well exam, Medicare annual wellness exam, routine medical exams, and pre-operative clearance exams. They will also follow you in the hospital and coordinate your care for you, your family, and lead a team of physicians if needed.

In Office Services

Pulmonary Consultation and Management

Pulmonary specialists are requested to evaluate and treat respiratory
complications while you are in the clinic. These complications can include
asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
(COPD).

 

Pulmonary Function Testing and Interpretation

In office state of the art equipment is used to conduct Pulmonary function tests (PFT’s) which are breathing tests to find out how well you move air in and out of your lungs and how well oxygen enters your body. The most common PFT’s are spirometry (spy-RAH-me-tree), diffusion studies and body plethysmography (ple-thiz-MA-gra-fee). Sometimes only one test is done, other times six tests will be scheduled, often on the same day.

 

Digital Chest X-Rays and Interpretation

State of the art equipment used to diagnose conditions affecting the chest, its contents, and nearby structures.

 

Sleep Consultation and Management

Sleep specialist evaluate and help treat sleep disturbances or
disorders while you are in the clinic. Sleep disturbances and disorders can
include sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome (RLS), narcolepsy, insomnia and
periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD).

 

Comprehensive Sleep Studies Interpretation

A sleep study is a test that examines what happens to your body during sleep. The studies are done to find out what is causing your sleep problems. The most common test, a Polysomnogram (PSG) is preformed overnight, usually in a lab.

Electrocardiaogram (EKG) & Interpretation

An electrocardiogram is performed to measure the electrical
activity of the heart. The recorded results are reviewed and transcribed by one
of our physicians in the clinic.

 

Laboratory Blood Draw

A certified phlebotomist will take a small sample of your blood and/or urine for analysis as per requested by your physician to the following labs: Western Health Sciences, Quest Diagnostics, and Lab Corp.

 

Respiratory Therapy

Treatment of breathing disorders such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

 


 
 

Hospital Services

Pulmonary Consultation and Management

Pulmonary specialists are requested to evaluate and treat breathing problems while you are hospitalized. These types of problems could be asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

 

Critical Care Consultation and Management

Life-threatening injuries and illnesses need critical care. Critical care involves close, constant attention by a team of specially-trained health professionals. It usually takes place in an intensive care unit (ICU) or trauma center. Problems that might need critical care treatment include complications from surgery, accidents, infections and severe breathing problems.

 

Hospitalist Services

We offer hospital coverage to other physicians in the San Gabriel Valley.

 

Ventilatory Management

Ventilation management involves providing mechanical ventilation to promote the patient's recovery and to reestablish spontaneous breathing.

 

Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is a test to view the airways and diagnose lung disease. It may also be used during the treatment of some lung conditions.

 

Thoracentisis

Thoracentesis is a procedure to remove fluid from the space between the lining of the outside of the lungs (pleura) and the wall of the chest.

 

Exercise Testing

A pulmonary exercise test measures many of your body’s functions, including the rate and rhythm of your heartbeat; blood pressure; breathing patterns; exhaled air; blood oxygen and carbon dioxide; and your general physical condition. It involves exercising on either a stationary bike or a treadmill, with the amount of exercise you are asked to do being gradually increased.

Workers Comp Evaluation

When requested by a Workers Compensation insurer, our contracted physicians will evaluate and treat a pulmonary injury or illness that occurred as a result of your employment. If you need to set up an appointment, please contact our office directly. Please make sure you have pre-approved by your work comp insurance, have your claim number, adjusters name and phone number, and insurance claims address and phone number available.

Medical-Legal Expert Services

Second Opinions

A second opinion is a visit to a different physician than the one a patient has previously been seeing in order to get a differing point-of-view. We offer and conduct professional opinion consultations on a regular basis. If you are seeking a second opinion, please contact our office directly to set up an appointment. Please make sure you bring your medical records and any chest x-rays, CT or MRI Scans you have had.
